The soft almond cookies are a baked flagship of the island of Sicily. However, they are also a traditional pastry in Apulia, Calabria and many other Italian regions. Once you try them, you are guaranteed to fall in love!

Super-soft cookies made from almonds
Ingredients
  • 250 g Almonds, ground
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 2 Protein
  • 2 TL Honey
  • 1 Organic orange, abrasion
  • 3 TL Powdered sugar
Cook Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour

Schritt für Schritt durch´s Rezept

  1. Step 1
    In a large bowl, mix the ground almonds with the sugar, egg whites, honey and orange zest to form a sticky, smooth dough. Cover the bowl and place in the fridge for half an hour.
  2. Step 2
    In the meantime, preheat the oven to 180° C top and bottom heat.
  3. Step 3
    Now cut off walnut-sized portions of the dough with a tablespoon and shape into balls.
  4. Step 4
    Roll the balls in powdered sugar and place 10 cm apart on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Pinch the top of each ball between two fingers.
  5. Step 5
    Now place in the oven for 10 minutes. When they look slightly golden, they are good.
