4 golden rules for tomato salad
- Use really ripe tomatoes!
- Tomatoes must be room temperature – not fridge-cold!
- It has to be very good olive oil!
- Freshly picked basil is also a must!
A word about olive oil
Insalata di pomodori, as the salad is called in Italian, provides the ideal canvas for really good extra virgin olive oil.
Choose an intensely fruity or medium fruity extra virgin and experience how the spiciness of the oil tickles your palate. If you like it milder, try a light fruity olive oil!
