You've come to the right place if you're looking for a festive dessert that you can whip up in no time at all without any great cooking skills. It's a sumptuous dessert that will delight the palate and also looks great.

- 100 ml Espresso
- 4 Eggs
- 8 EL Sugar
- 400 g Mascarpone
- 50 ml Vin Santo
- 1 Panettone
- 50 g Dark chocolate
- Powdered sugar
- 3 Mixing bowls
Schritt für Schritt durch´s Rezept
- Step 1Boil the espresso and leave to cool.
- Step 2Separate the eggs.
- Step 3Place the egg yolks in a mixing bowl and whisk with half the sugar until frothy and light in color.
- Step 4In another large mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites until they form bubbles. At this point, add the remaining sugar and continue beating until the egg whites are stiff.
- Step 5Drain the mascarpone. Using a spatula, carefully fold in the egg yolk and sugar mixture and then gradually fold in the stiff egg whites. Place the cream in the fridge for at least an hour.
- Step 6Cut the panettone into three pieces with two slices. Mix the vin santo with the coffee and drizzle lightly over each piece of panettone. Caution: only drizzle lightly, do not soak the cake.
- Step 7Chop the chocolate into small pieces with a large knife
- Step 8Spread half of the cream and a third of the chocolate on the base of the panettone. Now carefully place the middle piece on top, spread with the other half of the cream and sprinkle with another third of the chocolate sprinkles. Finally, place the lid on top.
- Step 9Place the filled cake in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Before serving, sprinkle with powdered sugar and decorate with the rest of the grated dark chocolate.
The ingredients for the Italian Christmas dessert
The main ingredients for this dessert are the classic ingredients for a tiramisu. You need eggs, espresso, vin santo and mascarpone. Only the ladyfingers are replaced by panettone.
Panettone is a typical Christmas cake in Italy. It is a huge round dome made from yeast dough, which is baked with extra butter, eggs and various fillings. It comes in versions with chocolate, dessert wine or candied fruit. The special feature is the light, fluffy consistency.
Mascarpone is an important ingredient alongside panettone. Pure white mascarpone is a heavy cream cheese. It tastes really rich and super, super creamy with a brilliant melt-in-the-mouth texture. When mascarpone is whipped with eggs and sugar, it makes the most delicious dessert cream.
The Vin Santo gives the Schichpanettone a special aroma. It is an intense dessert wine that tastes of dried fruit with honey and lots of spices. Together with the coffee, the Vin Santo provides the typical tiramisu flavor.
